What We Build

Kitchen Remodeling Done Right

A kitchen remodel is the single biggest financial decision most homeowners make on their house. It's also the project where the gap between a good build and a bad one is most visible — drawer alignment, cabinet reveal, countertop seam placement, range hood proportion. The details show.

Old Number One Customs runs kitchen remodels across Auburn, Opelika, Lake Martin, and Alexander City. We coordinate the cabinetry shop, the countertop fabricator, the appliance package, plumbing, electrical, and tile under one schedule with one accountable GC.

03 — FAQ
Common Questions

What Homeowners Ask

How much does a kitchen remodel cost in Auburn, AL?

A mid-range kitchen remodel in the Auburn-Opelika market runs $75,000 to $180,000. High-end builds with custom cabinetry, premium appliances, and layout changes typically land $200,000 to $400,000+. Use the configurator for a tier-based estimate.

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

Most kitchen remodels take 10 to 16 weeks from demo to final. Custom cabinetry lead times (typically 8-12 weeks) often drive the schedule — we order cabinets early in design so they're on site when framing finishes.

Can you live in the house during a kitchen remodel?

Yes, with planning. We set up a temporary kitchen — usually in a dining room or basement — with the existing refrigerator, a microwave, and a hot plate. Demo and rough-in are the worst weeks. Some clients book a vacation rental for those two weeks.

Do you handle the cabinetry and countertops or do I order those?

We handle all of it. We work with regional cabinetry shops in Alabama and Georgia and have established fabricator relationships for stone. Bringing those under our GC contract gives you one warranty and one schedule instead of three.

Do you remodel kitchens on Lake Martin?

Yes. Many of our Lake Martin kitchens are full gut remodels in 1980s-90s lake homes that need full layout reconfigurations. We coordinate around access logistics and seasonal scheduling for lake-house owners.
